In "So I was a coffin", What does the symbols represent (Spear, Flag, Bandage, Coffin)? Why is the solider in the poem "bad" at being some of these symbols? The solider is good at being a "coffin". What is the significance of this statement? How does it help you understand the theme or message of the poem? Thank you! I tried reading it over and over again and I just don't get it.
