I can try. :)
OpenStudy (volleyballlover55):
I can help you !
OpenStudy (momwasright):
Draw a rhombus. Label its vertices ABCD(I've done this). Angle A measures 160 degrees. Angle D measures x(x-1). Explain how to find the value of x.
OpenStudy (momwasright):
any of you understand this?
Mehek (mehek14):

first distribute
x(x-1)

okay, Ive drawn the rhombus and it looked just like that, but then I can
t figure out how to distribute it
Mehek (mehek14):
x(x-1) =
x * x = ?
x * -1 = ?
OpenStudy (momwasright):
x(x-1) = x^2 - x
x * x = x^2
x*-1 = -x
OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):
Correct
OpenStudy (momwasright):
is that it?

\(x^2-x+160=180\)
Mehek (mehek14):
\(x^2-x-20 = 0\)
OpenStudy (momwasright):
2√5 ?
OpenStudy (momwasright):
2√5x?
OpenStudy (momwasright):
no, that isnt it nevermind.

How did you get that?
Mehek (mehek14):
It should be like
\((x-?)(x+?)\)
OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):
He solved for it from here x^2−x+160=180
OpenStudy (momwasright):
(x -5)(x +4) ?
OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):
Yes

Mehek (mehek14):
correct
OpenStudy (momwasright):
I dont understand where I go from here. This problem is really confusing to me.
Mehek (mehek14):
I think it should be like
(x-5)(x+4)
x - 5 = 0
x + 4 = 0
and then you solve for x for both.
OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):
Or do something called x opp, and just change the signs.
Positive -> Negative
Negative -> Positive
OpenStudy (momwasright):
(x = 5)
(x = -4)?

Mehek (mehek14):
Right
Mehek (mehek14):
You don't need parenthesis
just
x = 5
x = -4
OpenStudy (momwasright):
okay
OpenStudy (momwasright):
so it would look like this?
x(x-1)
5({-4} -1) = ...?
OpenStudy (momwasright):
or would it be 2 separate problems? like,
-4(-4 - 1)
and
5(5-1)

x = 20 on both problems.. I feel dumb lol
OpenStudy (momwasright):
Thats the answer :) Thanks for your help
Mehek (mehek14):
You're welcome :)

I morally supported you guys 100% of the way
