how does mitosis differ from mitosis?

OpenStudy (caozeyuan):

what?! mitosis is the same as mitosis, lol

OpenStudy (thepope66):

Sorry. How does mitosis differ from meiosis? Like real simple.

OpenStudy (chpatterson):

In meiosis and mitosis the cells go through the same phases (prophase metaphase anaphase and telophase) execpt with meiosis it happens twice. Also in mitosis a cell is esentially cloned. In meiosis, 4 unique cells are created because of cross-over and independant assortment.

OpenStudy (chpatterson):

this should help you

OpenStudy (chpatterson):

i hope

OpenStudy (caozeyuan):

Mitosis goes through 1 stages ( 4 phases), meiosis goes through 2 stages(8phases), mitosis produces dipoild body cells, meiosis forms gametes, or sex cells
