I need help with (b) vertex everything else is right I get -7/2 but it says is wrong
what is the y-coordinate.? there is only x-coordinate
x coordinate of vertex h = -b/(2a) h = -14/(2*1) h = -7 you somehow forgot to get rid of the 2 when you went from -14/2 to -7/2
oh nvm, a = 2, my bad
h = -b/(2a) h = -14/(2*2) h = -14/4 h = -7/2 ... fraction form h = -3.5 ... decimal form
wow, I've been doing it right the whole entire time and I just needed to change into decimal form.. @jim_thompson5910 thanks you saved my life!
lol!
you're welcome. It was just a guess really because I noticed that the x intercepts were in decimal form
for the other part I got -46 and it says its wrong o.o @jim_thompson5910
y = 2x^2 + 14x + 10 y = 2(-3.5)^2+14(-3.5)+10 ... replace every x with -3.5 y = -14.5 not sure how you got -46
@jim_thompson5910 messed up the signs when multiplying thanks again! and you are very quick at doing math btw!
you're welcome. I used a calculator
