For graphing purposes it is easiest to put the given equation into slope-intercept form:

y = mx + b

2y + 5x = -6

2y = -5x - 6

y = (-5/2)x - 6/2

y = (-5/2)x - 3

From this^ form you can see that the point (0, -3) is the y-intercept because b = -3.

Another convenient point would be to choose x=2 giving:

y = (-5/2)(2) - 3

y = -5 - 3

y = -8

Therefore (2, -8) and (0, -3) are two points on the line,

now draw a straight line through them :-)

Note: you should check your work with a third point.
