What is the distance between point A and point B to the nearest tenth? A. 6.0 units B. 9.0 units C. 4.2 units D. 1.4 units

OpenStudy (themockingjay):

OpenStudy (phi):

maybe the easiest way is to make a right triangle and then use pythagoras

OpenStudy (iconforhire56):

^

OpenStudy (iconforhire56):

A if your actually looking for an answer :3

OpenStudy (phi):

draw a line sideways from A until you are right below B how many boxes over is it? then count how many boxes up to point B you now have 2 sides of a right triangle, and you need to find the length of the hypotenuse

OpenStudy (themockingjay):

how do you find the hypotenuse?

OpenStudy (iconforhire56):

\[c=\sqrt{a2+b2} \]

OpenStudy (themockingjay):

how did you get a?

OpenStudy (iconforhire56):

i counted the boxes xD

OpenStudy (iconforhire56):

but I fixed it the answer is c≈4.24

OpenStudy (themockingjay):

ok, thanks

OpenStudy (iconforhire56):

your welcome sorry for the mess up
