Write an algebraic expression that simplified to -7x - 4. Simplify the expressions to verify your answer.

OpenStudy (breanna1999):

Do you have any answer choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No theres none.

OpenStudy (breanna1999):

So you are going to need to x terms that simplify to -7 and two constants that simplify two -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I tried some but I couldn't come up with anything.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-28x/7 - 7/7 failed

OpenStudy (breanna1999):

-3x-8-4x+4 is one that you could use

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that factoring?

OpenStudy (breanna1999):

no just combine like terms and you get -3x+(-4x) and -8+4

OpenStudy (breanna1999):

it would equal -7x-4 which i guess thats what they are asking for.

Yeah thanks for the help! Trying to figure it out now.
