RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

Lithium reacts with bromine (Br2) in a synthesis reaction to produce lithium bromide. Determine the limiting reactant if 25.0 grams of lithium and 25.0 grams of bromine are present at the beginning of the reaction. limiting reactant = bromine limiting reactant = lithium limiting reactant = both lithium and bromine neither lithium nor bromine are the limiting reactant because they are both equal

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

2Li + Br2 -->2LiBr Given the mass of the reactants 25.0grams of Br is a lot lot less than 25.0g of Li so im going to assume that Bromide is definitely the limiting reactant

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

for some reason i was thinking lithium. oh well :P

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

:/ It is impossible to determine the percent composition of elements in a compound if you do not know the compound's chemical formula or the mass of each element in a sample of that compound. Selected Answer: FALSE Correct Answer: TRUE Response Feedback: In order to determine the percent composition, it is imperative to know either that compound's chemical formula or the mass of each element in a sample of that compound.

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

alright how many did i screw up

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

5

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

You were right on that one. Your chem knowledge is going to pass me up

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

its ok tho :) i dont expect you to be perfect :)

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

okok for the sake of an arguement i need your opinion

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Thanks :/. Yea I try to retain as much of this stuff that I can but to be honest I havent taken chem in over a year.

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

All purely off memory

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

niiice your pretty good then :) An example of an adaptation is ______. the color of a bird's feathers the shape of a bird's beak the color of a bird's feet all the above

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Ugggggh this question is tough.

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Heres my thinking on this question so far

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

I think an adaptation is technically any change as long as it illicits a beneficial response for the organism in its environment.

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Ill google it real quick see what i can find

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

So google specifically said this "In biology, adaptation is the process by which an organism changes to become better suited to survive in their environment."

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

I dont know how the color of a birds feet would be beneficial. Maybe feather color could help camoflauge. I do know that a change to beak shape could allow access to more food resources.

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Maybe b..?

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

ok thanks :) myself and one other person agreed and another person did not so i wondered

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

Yea, that question is pretty tricky/tough imo.

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

lol can you help with some american gov

RhondaSommer (rhondasommer):

@sweetburger

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

i may be of very little help i took american gov back in 9th grade
