Question In Screenshot (ordered pairs generated by linear function?)

OpenStudy (yaryar08):

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

You are right with it being a linear function, but the other option has the better reasoning. Even if the x values are constant, y-values can be exponential. For example: (1,1), (2, 2), (3, 4), (4, 8), (5,16)

OpenStudy (yaryar08):

yeah I was debating between those two , thanks for clarifying theres a second part @anthonyym can you help?

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

sure

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Do you know how to find the slope?

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Slope is the change in y over change in x. Pick two coordinates. Formula is (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1), with the two coordinates as (x1, x2), (y1, y2)

OpenStudy (yaryar08):

the slope is 4 so its either A or D @anthonyym ?

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

yes

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Y-intercept is where the graph crosses the y-axis, when x=0

OpenStudy (yaryar08):

so its A ? @anthonyym

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

Correct!

OpenStudy (yaryar08):

OpenStudy (yaryar08):

@anthonyym thank you (: !!! got me an 100%

OpenStudy (anthonyym):

No problem
