whats the difference between nuclear energy and light energy

Nuclear energy comes usually comes from atoms using either nuclear fission where the nucleus breaks or nuclear fusion where two atomic nuclei combine. Both release immense amounts of energy. Light energy comes from some form of light source ie the sun which is powered by nuclear fusion.
