lets call the number of pounds of high quality beans as H and the number of pounds of low quality beans as L we know she makes a total of 130 pounds, so H+L = ? can you answer?
no idea how to start
i just told you how to start. H and L are my two unknowns. i need to write two equations with H and L so that i can solve and find H and L. one of the clues is that total weight is 130 pounds. so can you make one equation using that information?
i dont know how to make an euqation like that
if i have x number of bananas and y number of apples how many fruits do i have in total?
5.00+3.00 is what i would put???
no i'm just trying to explain how to make an equation by giving you an unrelated example. if I had 10 bananas and 20 apples, how many fruits do i have in total?
30
yes :) now if I had 'x' number of watermelons and 'y' number of pineapples how many fruits do i have in total?
i need an equation to start its making me miserable
i know, its very frustrating at first... i have been there too
Here's how my teacher taught me to do these: If you have coffee A that is $3/pound, that will be x in our equation. Now we have coffee B that is $5/pound. We know that the total amount of coffee is 130 pounds, so we have (130-x) for the amount of $5/pound coffee
