OpenStudy (leozap1):

Fan & medal. I need to know the steps to take in order to simplify this. I know the answer, but I'd like to know how to simplify it. I used an online calculator to get the answer. (x-2)/(x+3) + (10x)/(x^2 -9)

myininaya (myininaya):

What are we solving?

myininaya (myininaya):

Did you mean simplify?

OpenStudy (leozap1):

Yes.

OpenStudy (leozap1):

It's this equation. (x-2)/(x+3) + (10x)/(x^2 -9)

myininaya (myininaya):

expression not equation

myininaya (myininaya):

but anyways you should notice that x^2-9 is (x-3)(x+3) so just multiply first fraction by (x-3)/(x-3) so you can have the same denominator and write the fractions as one

OpenStudy (leozap1):

Okay, so I have (x-2)/(x+2)+(10x)/(x-3)(x-3). Now what?
