OpenStudy (braedyn15):

Triangle GHI is similar to triangle JKL. Which statement is true about the two triangles? Angles G and L are congruent. Angles H and K are proportional. Angles I and L are congruent. Angles K and J are proportional. i think its B but im not sure

Directrix (directrix):

>> Angles H and K are proportional. No. The corresponding angles of similar triangles are congruent.

Directrix (directrix):

Look at the order of the letters in the triangle similarity statement. Triangle GHI is similar to triangle JKL. GHI JKL means that G<->J and H<->K and I <-> L where <-> means corresponds.

OpenStudy (braedyn15):

so it would be C?

Directrix (directrix):

While H and K are corresponding vertices, that does not mean that the angles with those vertices are proportional. It means that they are congruent.

Directrix (directrix):

>> Angles I and L are congruent. Does vertex I correspond to vertex L ? From above, I <-> L where <-> means corresponds. So, yes. the vertices correspond and the angles are congruent.

OpenStudy (braedyn15):

okay thanks so much for the help!

Directrix (directrix):

You are welcome.
