I am having trouble writing a literary criticism. My teacher did not explain it well and I am very confused. She says it is not a literary analysis and somehow we have to relate the book to the American Dream. I would really appreciate some help. My book is The Old Man and the Sea by Ernest Hemingway.

welcome to os!!!!
Ok so, the American Dream is basically the freedom and ability to work your way to a better life full of riches. I suppose in the the book the man and the sea, you could say, the old man is able to do what he loves and has the potential to climb higher. Sorry I read the book 2 years ago... Hope this helps!
