OpenStudy (xoerickaxo):

When the polynomial P(x) = 3x3 − 2x2 + kx − 12 is divided by x − 3, the remainder is 0. Which of the following is also a factor of P(x)? 3x − 4 x + 1 x − 4 3x + 1

OpenStudy (john_es):

You can use the remainder theorem to find k and then use it again with one of the solutions. Do you know the remainder theorem?

OpenStudy (mightychondrion):

Do you know how to do long division with polynomials? I solved it but am not sure you'd follow the solution.

OpenStudy (mightychondrion):

The answer is B

OpenStudy (mightychondrion):

It's called synthetic division, they taught it in Math HL I'm not sure if many others can follow this
