question (logical reasoning) Provide Mid-day meals to the children ...

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

|dw:1461835693257:dw|

OpenStudy (eol):

well I. is obviously implicit but II. is implicit as well because only children who are deprived of good meals would attend a school that gives mid-day meals, which the question doesn't state whether the meal is free or not (it could be included in annual costs).

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

so is option a.) correct according to u

OpenStudy (eol):

mm, i don't particularly know why e) is given to be correct, but if the book says it it must be.

OpenStudy (eol):

what is your reasoning for a) to be correct?

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

statement says govt wants to attract school children so I should be correct but it is not necessay that who r deprived of good food will attend school for midday meal and mid-day meal is not certfied as good-meal in statement.

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

but the question asks for assumptions that are "implicit" in the statement: there are two issues here 1) providing food 2) the quality of the provided food obviously providing food will attract students, if they don't have any other source of food also providing better quality of food will attract those students who are otherwise "deprived of good food"

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

ok thnks

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

does it make sense?

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

yea but there is a incident here of mid-day meal https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bihar_school_meal_poisoning_incident

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

indeed, real life is a lot more complicated than logical reasoning questions

OpenStudy (eol):

Ha quite true

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

so still option e.) ?

OpenStudy (skullpatrol):

yes

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

ok
