OpenStudy (dengeki_daisy):

What is the area of the shaded region in the given circle in terms of pi and in simplest form?

OpenStudy (dengeki_daisy):

OpenStudy (dengeki_daisy):

can someone help

OpenStudy (vladthepro):

Area of full circle C = Pi*R^2 = 18^2*Pi = 324 Pi = 1017.36 Area of (shaded area - triangle) : 270*Pi*(300/360) = 270*Pi = 847.8 (1) Triangle: The height of an equilateral triangle is equal to a*V3/2 Area of triangle: (18)*9V3/2 = 81*V3 = 140.30 Shaded area [( 1) + triangle] = 847.8 + 140.30 = 988.10 Your area is 5/6 of a circle plus the area of the triangle, which is 18^2/4 √3 = 81√3.

OpenStudy (dengeki_daisy):

so my answer would be D then

OpenStudy (vladthepro):

Correct :)

OpenStudy (dengeki_daisy):

WOW awesome, thank you so much. You made this seem easy.

OpenStudy (vladthepro):

It is :)

OpenStudy (babeberry):

OpenStudy (dengeki_daisy):
