So in the first one, try to find factors of 108 1&108, 2&54, 3&36, 4&27, 6&18, and 9&12 Of these, the only pair that has a number that you could evenly take the cube root of is 4&27 because 27=3x3x3, so you then take the cube root of 27, which is 3, and place it outside of the radical sign, and leave the other factor, which in this case is 4, under the radical. Does that make sense?
