Use the formula SA= 6(s^2). What is the surface area of cube that has side lengths of 5 inches?
67 inches^2
150 inches^2
240 inches^2
180 inches^2
I'm just confused on what to do. :P

Since the side length is 5, s=5 so just plug 5 into the equation for s

I'm confused... :\
OpenStudy (utterly_confuzzled):
So that would become\[6(5^2)\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so 6 x 5^2?

Right
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so 150 in. ^2?
OpenStudy (utterly_confuzzled):
Because the equation is basically saying Surface Area = 6 x Side Length ^ 2 and since 5 is the side length, that becomes 6x5^2 which equals 150
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So its ^2 not ^3 right?
OpenStudy (utterly_confuzzled):
Right

YAY THANK YOU! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
OpenStudy (utterly_confuzzled):
You're welcome!
OpenStudy (hashem):
area of one face = 5x5 = 25
whole surface area = area of one face x number of faces = 25 X 6 faces (for a cube)
OpenStudy (hashem):
= 150

I fanned and medaled @Utterly_Confuzzled . (^─‿‿─^)
