Will medal!! Which incident from Lord of the Flies is used to develop the growing divide between Ralph and Jack? A. The littluns cry in their sleep after having nightmares about the beast. B. The boys follow Jack to dance on the beach before the meeting is over. C. Simon fails to speak eloquently and clearly when he has the conch. D. The man parachutes to the mountain.
Which one do you think it is? Have you read the book yet or do you need a summary of it?
I've read up to what we need to be at on the class, and I think it might be A but im not completely sure...
Can you summarize what you read so far?
Or at least say what chapter you had to read to
i read to chapter ten- which is where everyone in the class is on the book
Alright so summarize some of the things that happen in the book: With Jack becoming the leader of the hunters he now has a close group of friends who think of him as a leader. Because of this, Jack attempts to persuade all the boys to put him as permanent leader instead of Ralph, however this fails. Jack then says that when anyone is ready they can join him to where they will have fun and through hunting and eating meat. Many boys leave to join Jack while Ralph and Piggy attempt to tell them how they need to create a fire in order to escape the island. So to answer your question, It would be B because it is the only answer choice that specifically mentions Jack and logically could create tension between the two boys.
Oh my gosh. Thank you!! The options all sounded weird and I went back to read it over because of that!!
