PLEASE HELP/ EXPLAIN THIS! Example: (3,1); (4,2); (5,1) is a function (1,2); (3,5), (1,7) is a non-function I need one set that is a function and one that is not

OpenStudy (xguardians):

Do you need help explaining what is a function and what is not?

OpenStudy (xguardians):

A function has one set of x values per set of y values. Therefore, they cannot be duplicates of the same x-value as seen in the second example. The x-value (1), shares two y values (2) and (7), which is not a function. You would be unable to graph it as seen here: |dw:1461898183532:dw|
