Okay, so I picked a tropical rain forest for my science, and the question asks : Explain how the ecosystem that you selected follows the law of conservation of mass and the law of conservation of energy. It is said that only about 10% of stored energy is transferred between trophic levels of the ecosystem. Be specific in using your ecosystem in your example.
So for my assignment i did grassland and this is what I put: The law of conservation of mass sated that matter cannot be created nor destroyed. A grassland follows this because the mass is distributed from the first animal to the second animal. The law of conservation of energy says that energy cannot be created or destroyed. The grassland follows this because the energy is neither created nor destroyed but is given and stored in the plants and animals.
Does this example help or do you still need help
I agree with Tay. Matter and Energy can't be created or destroyed, so it has to go somewhere. Maybe through the water cycle, or maybe food chains can be involved
