The United States should have declared the war because if they didn’t declare war and took the territories, the manifest destiny may not have happened and we may not have all fifty states and we may not even have entered the western part of the country in the Northwest region. Also, declaring war against Mexico was to gain independence and if we defeated Mexico we gain the Mexican territory.
