I haven't ever had to write a poem but part of my final for my literature class was to write a free write style poem. Every person who submits one would automatically make a 60% but if the rest relies on the essay I am not done with. This is the poem tell me if you guys think it's good enough to turn in for a grade. I've been drowning in dry land
In this supposed to be sanctuary 
Feeling like I'm being stabbed non stop
Lucifer is dragging me close
Do I follow or do I stay still
Like I was for seventeen years
Drowning in that pit of emotions 
With no feeling of escape 
Until my family came along
Took me in
Fed me
Gave me the job only few can dream of
You all saved my life
You all are my family
My family that saved me from drowning

For the line:

You could replace 'non stop' with 'endlessly' to make it flow better
