Calc Help Please: It's actually High School and I don't know how to change it

OpenStudy (xguardians):

I'll help you in one second :)

OpenStudy (xguardians):

Have you tried integrating it? (taking the area)?

OpenStudy (xguardians):

|dw:1461956298828:dw| Since your going backwards, you need to make the first one negative, and anything under the x-axis positive. Therefore, you start with 8 subtract 4, then add 2 for an answer of 6. Thanks for asking a Calc question, I have my AP test this upcoming week :)
