what are your thoughts on female metal vocalists? Like I do a lot of growls and stuff for my bands, and I sound just like a dude cus of my voice, but if I tried to do it more feminine, would that possibly damage our fan base? Idk, im just worried...

If your in highschool theres always room to rebuild a fanbase. Also it shouldn't matter, highschool bands should be fun and you should be able to do what you want. Growls are great for metal/screamo and i've never really heard a masculine or feminine growl I just hear a growl. Experiment in practice and see if the band likes it. Also if you play a show ask the crowd.

Yeah if you do a collab sometimes its good to switch up the tone it might sound really good. Just experiment.

I'm in Cali but leaving at the end of next week. Also bands like Conquer Divide is a perfect example of bands with female vocalists that exploded onto the scene. It's like at one point no on has heard of them but out of no where they got signed to Artery Recordings and next thing you know they are doing collabs with the new vocalist for Asking Alexandria. Main point everyone has their own voice. Male or female screams sound amazing either way to me. It's all about the audience. If one audience leaves guarenteed a new audience would appear.

Also the person from Beautiful Bodies is pretty good. Not metal but a pretty good vocalist. So woooo. The vocalist from Tonight Alive is amazing. I can't think of any more right now.

I know. I've seen them live on YouTube but I've never actually been to a concert. Their concerts are on my top 15 list to attend before I graduate college.
