Alright, guys, I have a question. Simple one, really. I'm turning -0.45 into a percentage. I know that that would be 45%, since you'll always have to move the decimal two places to the right. But, does that mean that this percent has to be negative? Or is that taken off? Can someone please explain to me how that works? Thank you! (I will medal and favorite the best answer.)

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

I'd say yes, if it has a minus sign in front of it, it will be negative, and yes, is -45%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's what I was thinking, but I wasn't too sure and this is for a K12 test, so I wanted to be 100% sure.

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

a percent value, it just a quantity, depending on what's representing, it can be either, or none if you're referring to say... accounting, a minus percent simply means liabilities for other scenarios, it would not apply, like say a percent of a pie, you can't have -45% of a pie

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hi! I'm pretty sure its would be turned into a negative. I also go to K12! (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks to both of you! And Lilly, that's great! I love K12! What grade are you in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6th. How about you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How long have you been in K12?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I've only been in K12 for a year. I'm coming back for a second year! I'm in 8th grade :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And for anyone who were to be needing help, it was correct, the -45%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats awesome! I've been in K12 for 3 1/2 years. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh wow! I didn't realize K12 was around for that long!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I mean, my sister has been in K12 for 1st and is now in 2nd grade, so two years, but still.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea I think its been around since, 2000 or something like that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oops thats weird that it posted again. O.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would've been in K12 a looong time ago if my mother had known about it since that time. I've been homeschooled all my life, so this would've helped her back then!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And what posted again??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm from MA, so I go to MAVA on K12. What do you go to? (I'm not sure if I'm asking this correctly xD)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm, thats weird i thought it reposted my message about how i've been in K12 for 3 1/2 years but I guess not. O.o

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nah, it didn't xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

XD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm glad you got the answer right btw. v(=∩_∩=)フ

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks!! Although I got some previous questions wrong in my test, so I ended up failing with 60% :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:/ Welp, everyone makes mistakes!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I guess so!! All I'll need to do it try again :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep! Thank goodness K12 lets you retake the test. (~ ̄▽ ̄)~

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Only three times, though. Then you need to contact your teacher. Which will be a challenge for me to get in contact with my math teacher at the moment, since it's already late :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea... ┻━┻ ︵ヽ(`Д´)ノ︵ ┻━┻

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So how many medals do you have?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea!! I rarely even come on here :/ And it's always so slow when I check

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I only have 18. Im trying to save up to get a Openstudy shirt or a volunteering certificate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its just so hard to get medals though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What does getting a volunteering certificate mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

And you can get shirts!? O.O

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep! A volunteering certificate is just something to help you get in to college because at college they looove volunteering.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That'd be nice to receive! How many medals do you need to get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok so medals are basically cents. SO if you earn 1 medal you get 1 cent. And of course 100 cents add up to $1.00 or 1 Owlbuck. To get a volunteering certificate or a shirt you need 50 Owlbucks. So it will take a while. :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Wow!! That's going to take a long time to receive all those medals!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

But, if you think about it, we still have the time to get them. You, especially. Only in the sixth grade! You're going to get that amount and more!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

XD yea. :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I gtg but i'll talk to you later k? BYE!!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright!! Talk to you later. BYEEE!!! :D
