\[m=\frac{ y_{2}-y_{1} }{ x_{2}-x_{1} }\] standard form of coordinates are (x,y) if you have two pairs (5,4) and (5,7) then you label them \[(x_{1},y_{1}), (x_{2},y_{2})\] so let (5,4)= (x1,y1) and let (5,7)=(x2,y2)
