OpenStudy (wcrmelissa2001):

OpenStudy (mww):

not sure about the second one but the first, sub in the roots of x=p and x=-4q (by remainder theorem) and make them equal to start with.

OpenStudy (wcrmelissa2001):

i did. but i get like \[\frac{ 12q+3p }{ p+4q } = p-4q\] and i'm not sure how to continue

OpenStudy (mww):

factorise the LHS :D

OpenStudy (mww):

For the second might be helpful to have starting root x = 1/3 might help.

OpenStudy (wcrmelissa2001):

ohhhhh yeah i can factorise thanks :D
