Find the two perfect square roots near it. sqrt 81 and sqrt 100 Find the square roots for your solution.

OpenStudy (abbster2015backup):

I am so lost, Like I honestly don't even have a clue @rebeccaxhawaii

OpenStudy (btaylor):

Let's start with an easier example. You're trying to find what the square root of 13 is. You know that 3^2 is 9, and 4^2 is 16. Since 13 is between 9 and 16, you know that the square root of 13 is somewhere between 3 and 4.

OpenStudy (btaylor):

Does that make sense to you?

OpenStudy (abbster2015backup):

right

OpenStudy (abbster2015backup):

Yeah

OpenStudy (btaylor):

so now, to find the square root of 89: what are the two perfect squares nearest to 89?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is what a hand held calculator is for. \[\sqrt{89}=9.43398 \]

OpenStudy (abbster2015backup):

So it's B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

@robtobey we're supposed to help her to the answer, not just hand it out.
