the final reason for why it is unfair is that Romeo needed to act on his own defense. Tybalt might have killed Romeo just like how to killed Mercurio. After all, Romeo was Tybalt's target but because Mercutio wanted to take up this fight, Tybalt and Mercutio fought leading to Mercutio's death.
