Is 950% a real percentage? I was doing a math problem and the answer was 950% (and I got the answer right). I was debating with a friend and they said it wasn't a real percentage and I said it was.

@TheSmartOne

OpenStudy (openstudyissoawesome):

That can be a real percentage.

OpenStudy (openstudyissoawesome):

Percentage is not limited to 100%

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Really? I didn't know that. :P

OpenStudy (openstudyissoawesome):

If a company's profits more than double they increase by more than 100%.

OpenStudy (openstudyissoawesome):

So 950% is real.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They asked us to convert 9 1/2 into a percentage and I got 950%. @OpenStudyIsSoAwesome

OpenStudy (openstudyissoawesome):

uh huh thats right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok thx.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think @smartnerd1111?

OpenStudy (wolf1728):

Heck that is a real percentage.

OpenStudy (smartnerd1111):

yes it is a real percent.it isnt limited to 100.you get 1000 percent for all i know.that will be a cool grade to have

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Right. Percentages, just like numbers, go to infinity. 100% can be represented as 1, so if you ate 200% more snacks on this diet than the last, you ate double. 300%, triple. 1000%, ten times, and so on
