OpenStudy (kendalldee):

How might larger/stronger muscles for chewing relate to a species and their food sources?

OpenStudy (kendalldee):

I was marked incorrect stating that it helps chew through muscle and skin? What would you say the answer is? Nuts and bark?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I believe that the muscles in the chewing process shows what the species ate and how much they ate a day. But given that you meant carnivore I believe it just shows how strong the muscle was to bite into what they were eating.

OpenStudy (juan1857):

Maybe it will make it a more threatening predator causing it to go on top of the food chain. This will facilitate an animal's ability to eat different types of food. Such benefit makes it easier for this species to survive, but may cause a decrease in population on the additional species that it eats.
