3x^6 + 7x +3 + 5x^9 + 12x You cannot combine 3x and 5x because the exponents are different therefore they are not like terms. The only like terms you have are 7x and 12x so your answer becomes: 5x^9 3x^6 + 19x + 3 I did it this way because it has to be in standard form, which is exponents in descending order so because 9 is larger than 6, (It is the degree), that is why i ordered them that way.
