Add the polynomials together. Since you adding the polynomials, you can start by dropping the parentheses. Then add like terms. Like terms have the same variable parts. For example, x and 4x are like terms. -2x^2 and 4x^2 are also like terms. 5x^6 and 4x^3 are not like terms.
