Are you trying to find the area of the irregular shape or the volume of the net?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

If you were to find the area of each you would split each and identify each shape that is in this photo.... I see that there are two triangle, one rectangle, and one parallelogram. So lets list each shapes formula for finding the area.... \(\LARGE{Triangle:{\color{purple}{A=\frac{1}{2}(b\times h)}}}\) \(\LARGE{Rectangle:{\color{purple}{A= b \times h}}}\) \(\LARGE{Parallelogram:{\color{purple}{A=b \times h}}}\) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Now with this known we would input what we know of for each shape.... We see that one of the triangles (the one on the top left) it has a base of 9 in and a height of 8 in.....as well with the other triangle (to the right) has a base of 8 in and a height of 9 in.... The rectangle (below the triangle on the top left) has a base of 11 in and a height of 9 in..... And the parallelogram has a height of 11 in and a base of 9 in.... Now that we know of each length and height for each shape we would input them... \(\LARGE{Triangle~1:A=\frac{1}{2} (9 \times 8)}\) This is the one for the top left... \(\LARGE{Triangle~2:A=\frac{1}{2}(8 \times 9)}\) This is for the one on the right... \(\LARGE{Rectangle:A=9 \times 11}\) \(\LARGE{Parallelogram: A=11 \times 9}\) With all these inputted we would simplify each and then you would add them all together to find the area of the irregular shape....
