https://gyazo.com/3bd27b1f8cb42364ce104dc7f75f24b8 Solve for the areas of the different shapes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@xGuardians idk how to. idk what im doing

OpenStudy (xguardians):

For triangles, Area = 1/2bh Rectangle A = lw Use the coordinates.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i do that ? im really confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i've never done this before

OpenStudy (xguardians):

Look at the bottom left triangle. The base is -6 to -8, which is 2 difference in the y The height is -3 to -5, which is 2 difference in the x Therefore you have A (for that little triangle) is 1/2(2 * 2) = 1/2(4) = 2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what would the area be ?

OpenStudy (xguardians):

For that little triangle, it's two. You have to solve for the rest of them like I just did.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@xGuardians so for the triangle above it would be 3 ?

OpenStudy (xguardians):

Yes, @cicilynxox, for the bottom half of the triangle above it. Don't forget to do that little sliver above it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im still so confused @xGuardians

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this doesnt make any sense

OpenStudy (xguardians):

Your just taking areas of the different parts then adding them up afterwards to find the total area.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im confused on how to find the area of the different shapes

OpenStudy (xguardians):

You do what you had done for each triangle. A = 1/2bh

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the bottom triangle is 2 the one above it is 3 the one next to it is either 4 or 6 the one of the far right is 5 or 7 ? the rectangle is 24 ? @xGuardians
