Well, here's something that might help you: review the word definitions first. As you do, write them down in your own words. For example:

Odoriferous: Smelling strongly of something.

Write down their role in a sentence, as well. Odoriferous is an ADJECTIVE, meaning it describes something (an odoriferous dog).

Once you've completed this, try inserting each word into the blanks in the questions. If it doesn't make sense- by means of definition OR its role- then it's not the answer. For example, the first question is looking for a verb, so that alone tells you that "odoriferous" isn't the answer.
