8. Martha asked her friends how much spending money they were given each week. Which measure would Martha use to show her parents that her friends have more spending money than she has? Spending Money Friend Amount Rich $5 Sonya $20 Cathy $6 Martina $3 Edmundo $3 A. Mean, because the $20 will raise the average so it looks like everyone is getting more spending money. B. Median, because it disregards the highest and lowest amounts and will be representative of the amount her friends get. C. Mode, because it gives the amount that two of her friends receive.

what do you think?

OpenStudy (x__hazel__x):

hmmm.. maybe mode?

OpenStudy (mysticfury):

lets check the mean 37 divided by 5 = 7.4 which is more then most of her friends get, so A is incorrect Median = 5 . thats a pretty close estimate of what they get "Median : because it disregards the highest and lowest amounts and will be representative of the amount her friends get" that sounds about right to me! Mode = 3 .... 2/5 of her friends get that which is less then half which dosent really sound right compared to the 5 and 6 her other friends get

Okay! Thank you sooo much! Ill put Median!
