OpenStudy (pphalke):

7x^2+6x^4-2x^2-x^4-5x^2

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

what are you being asked to do with this?

OpenStudy (pphalke):

collect like terms

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

ok let me rewrite it and we can take a look

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

\[7x^{2}+6x^{4}-2x^{2}-x^{4}-5x^{2}\] something that always helped me with this is to first move thing around by the highest to lowest exponent.

OpenStudy (pphalke):

ok

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

so it would look like this: \[6x^{4}-x^{4}+7x^{2}-5x^{2}-2x^{2}\] so this is what i have done. now combine like terms

OpenStudy (kkutie7):

its the same thing as this: \[x^{4}(6-1)+x^{2}(7-5-2)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[5 x^4 \]
