so the base angles are equal in their angle measurement and the vertex angle is different. let's assume that the base angles are x the vertex angle is 8x because it's "eight times the measure of a base angle" since there's two base angles, it's two x's and since there's one vertex angle it's going to be only one 8x we also know that every triangle has a total angle measurement of 180 degrees using those information, we can derive the equation as x + x + 8x = 180 now you need to solve for x.
