In the left half wave circuit find the voltage DC out Ac input is 120V @ 60hz

OpenStudy (thomas5267):

Dafuq? Are those capacitors?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Yes just diodes and capacitors haha

ILovePuppiesLol (ilovepuppieslol):

what are those

umerlodhi (umerlodhi):

gg

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

thank you @inkyvoyd got it !

OpenStudy (inkyvoyd):

this is a better source tbh http://www.allaboutcircuits.com/textbook/semiconductors/chpt-3/voltage-multipliers/

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Basically the capacitors are getting charged to 2Vm in the first few cycles due to the magic on/off of diodes. The output is taken across the serially connected capacitors, the voltage adds up. Nice :)
