]The mining of phosphate on an island has stripped away soil and vegetation and forced people to import food. In your own words, suggest a method to solve this problem and explain how it would help to solve human, economic, and environmental issues associated with phosphate mining.

@JuicyLips @Qwertty123 @fluffynose

OpenStudy (helpkay):

what do you think i could say about this

OpenStudy (helpkay):

@Atsie @Directrix @heyyyyitsholly @jameshorton @jirehnbush @Qwertty123 @UliNK could someone help me

Atsie (atsie):

I'm clueless, I'm sorry :(

OpenStudy (jameshorton):

what yo kik or facebook @helpkay

OpenStudy (helpkay):

here is what i have so far They could replace the phosphate in the soil. They could add minerals to the soil. They could burn the crop or add fertilizer to the soil to make the soil rick. movie to a place that is not being used for farming. would this be good

OpenStudy (qwertty123):

That is good :)

OpenStudy (heyyyyitsholly):

@jameshorton What does that comment have to do with the question? :\

OpenStudy (jirehnbush):

sometimes there are certain neccessary evils that you cant get away with.like pollution due to transport.so all we can do here is to limit the mining in such a proportion that the soil can naturally heal the damage caused in short time..

OpenStudy (heyyyyitsholly):

And @helpkay Good Job! :D

\(\color{green}{Originally~posted~by}\) @crystal_sky We could reduce soil erosion and recycle phosphorus from farm and human waste so that we could help make food production sustainable and prevent algae blooms. We can also do land reclamation as well to help solve this problem. With the land we would have to design a system to where the land could be functional again in order to plant crops, trees, also to help the wild life that was once a part of the island. Therefore if the design is done before the mining then afterwards we can do the reclamation of the land which would help the people to be able to function after the mining. It would also help the future generations that come along after the previous generations. Everyone must work together in the process in order for everyone to survive. If all this is done then the people of the island would not have to import their food. The reclamation process is the most important thing that has to be designed first whether it is land, soil, water, lakes, and clay then after plant trees, vegetation, and other forms of plants to help replenish the land after the mining is done. how does this sound for a solution to the problem.
