Quick 8th grade math help? The town glee club sold tickets for the summer concert. The club charged $8 for a child ticket and $18 for an adult ticket. A total of $8,400 in ticket sales was raised. The number of adult tickets, a, is 50 more than twice the number of child tickets, c. Which system of equations will solve for the number of each type of ticket?

OpenStudy (melissa401):

@AloneS

OpenStudy (supersmart1001):

OpenStudy (melissa401):

I didn't get any

OpenStudy (supersmart1001):

OpenStudy (supersmart1001):

hold on i will be back in a min

OpenStudy (melissa401):

Ok

OpenStudy (ethane):

well 8400= thats how you would start it

OpenStudy (misty1212):

HI!!

OpenStudy (misty1212):

looks like they are trying to make this as complicated as possible huh?

OpenStudy (shaik0124):

a=50+2*c from given data

OpenStudy (misty1212):

you need two variables, one for the number of child's tickets and one for adult tickets do you have answer choices or can you make them up?

OpenStudy (misty1212):

oh nvm what @shaik0124 said \[a=2c+50\] is one equation for sure

OpenStudy (melissa401):

Sorry to say this, I already turned in my test and got a 90% this was the only question I had wrong thanks though.
