Which of the following points is in the solution set of

alones (alones):

y>x^2+7x-14 wouldn't that be (-7,5) /:

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

What are the choices?

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Ideally, all you need to do is take a point \(\large (x,y)\) and plug the 'x' into your equation Example with your point chosen (-7,5) \[\large y > x^2 + 7x -14\] If I plug in -7 here for 'x' I get \[\large y > (-7)^2 + 7(-7) - 14\] \[\large y > 49 - 49 - 14\] \[\large y > -14\] So any choices with x = -7 ....there would have to be a y greater than -14 in order for it to be a solution point
