Algebra 2 help please? I really don't understand how to do this. Write the equation of the quadratic function with roots -9 and and -3 and a vertex at (-6, -1).

OpenStudy (thefurball):

Roots means that when x is -9 or -3, Y is equal to zero. So there has to be (x+9)(x+3) = y. If you plug in -6 do you get a vertex at -1?
