OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

area using apothem (a) pic below

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

@Directrix

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you know what mean ,,regular polygon" ? for example in case of number 8. ?

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

regular polygon all angle = and all sides are =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly - nice - so in case of exercise 8. what you know about this triangle ?

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

wait what does apothem mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please answer my question firstly

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

the angles will be 90 deg on both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a triangle with equale sides and equal angles measure - what is the name of same triangle ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how many is the sum of angles of a triangle ?

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

a triangle= 180 deg I believe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes correct so divide it on 3 angles how many will have one angle from this triangle than every 3 are equale ?

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

60?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes sure so what you know - what is the name of triangle with angles 60 degree - equale measure angles and equal length of sides ?

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

equilateral triangle all sides =

OpenStudy (anonymous):

exactly - nice so with knowladges now than you check this image with this equilateral triangle what you see - what are this apothemes for triangle angles ?

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

30 Im pretty sure that is wrong lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what is this 30 ?

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

wait I'm confused what part of the triangle Im I suppose to be solving

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so you dont like answer my questions ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i like help you understanding all, every steps how you can solving same exercises

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

I love answering questions but I cant answer if I dont understand and sorry I have to go bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have learned about bisectors ?

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

yes I believe I have

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so these apothemes bisect these angles in two equale parts so what you have wrote above this 30 degree is correct bc. one bisected angles has 30 degree - do you understand it now ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can i continuing with you ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so with this knowladge you know it sure that angle 3 how many degree has - yes ? 60 biescted equal how many ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

please collaborate - we can ending this nr 8 imediatly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so this angle nr 3 has measure of 60/2 = 30 and than you see on the other part this angle bisected will have 30 degree too so 30+30=60 but you know that the sum of angles of a triangle is 180 so than angle 2 will have measure of 180-60=120 degree ok. ?

OpenStudy (samanddean1967):

Alright I understand that it makes sense and if I don't answer it's because I'm at a meeting

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you like continue it now ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so bc. the corner angles are equale so from this result that the central angles are equal twoo - so than you know that the measure of angle 2 is 120 degree so from this result that the measure of angle 1 will be 120 degree too hope you understand it this too same before
