OpenStudy (mai_mai_312):

Compare and contrast parasitism and predation.

OpenStudy (chpatterson):

The similarity between predation and parasitism is that the predator or the parasite derives its nutrition from some other organism. The difference is that the predator kills that organism while the parasite strategy is not to kill the host organism, but to continue to parasitize it for a prolonged period, which may involve generations of parasites - although it should be noted that parasites do sometimes kill their hosts.
