OpenStudy (jas.2002):

I just need a quick answer please! Which transformations will produce similar, but not congruent, figures? A.Triangle TUV is dilated by a scale factor of 9 and then translated 2 units right and 1 unit down to form triangle TꞌꞌUꞌꞌVꞌꞌ. B.Triangle TUV is rotated 180° counterclockwise and then reflected across the x-axis to form triangle TꞌꞌUꞌꞌVꞌꞌ. C.Triangle TUV is rotated 270° clockwise and then translated 12 units down to form triangle TꞌꞌUꞌꞌVꞌꞌ. D.Triangle TUV is translated 3 units left and 4 units up and then reflected across the y-axis to form triangle TꞌꞌUꞌꞌVꞌꞌ.

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

Dilation is basically making the figure bigger and smaller by a certain scale factor. If you are simply rotating a figure or doing some other transformations, other than dilation, then you are keeping it congruent because the shape's size remains the same and only the position of the shape changes.

OpenStudy (jas.2002):

i will give u a medal if you will just give me an answer plz

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

I can't directly say the answer as it violates OpenStudy's Code of Conduct. But just see what option talks about dilation (that's as far as a hint I can give you).

OpenStudy (calculusxy):

@jas.2002 Did you get it?

OpenStudy (jas.2002):

not really..
