every rational number is a natural number????

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

No. Something like 1/2 is a rational number because it is a ratio of two whole numbers. But 1/2 is NOT a natural number. A natural number is a counting number (1,2,3,4....)

If you said `every natural number is a rational number` then you'd be correct since you can write the counting number 12 as 12/1. Notice how 12/1 is a ratio of two whole numbers. So 12/1 is a rational number.
